YPI CREW, in partnership with Hill Dickinson law firm, are hosting a free online workshop in which participants will gain a solid understanding of the key contractual obligations that charter Captains and crew must fulfill on behalf of superyacht Owners. Our expert speakers will share insights and provide advice based on their extensive past experience of having represented both Owners and Charterers in charter disputes. In addition, there will be an opportunity for you to share your own experiences and views, and to ask questions.
A Captain and crew’s job is to deliver an unforgettable, luxury experience for superyacht charter guests. As the “charter experience” is underpinned by a legal contract, familiarity with its key terms is essential in order to minimise the risk of any issues or complaints onboard escalating to legal claims.
During this online workshop we will:
Highlight the key contractual obligations that the Captain and crew must deliver on behalf of the Owner under the terms of the Charter Contract
Discuss some of the issues we have seen escalate into legal claims
Provide some tips and guidance in the event of issues or complaints arising.
By participating in this workshop, you will familiarise yourself with the key terms of the Charter Contract and as a result you should feel better prepared and more confident to face the busy charter season ahead!
The workshop will be led by the expert team from the international law firm, Hill Dickinson who are market leaders for the provision of legal services in the superyacht industry. Martin Penny and Francesca Conn are committed to sharing their knowledge with crew members, through this workshop, held in partnership with YPI CREW.
