Born and raised in Minnesota, Sam moved to Lyon, France, in 2016 to pursue his studies in Foreign Languages at Université Lumière Lyon 2. It wasn’t until 2022 that he decided to move down to the south of France after graduating with a Master’s Degree in International Business and Foreign Languages. Before joining YPI CREW, he led marketing efforts at another well-known yacht crew agency in Antibes, where he developed a strong foundation in digital strategy and brand positioning within the yachting industry. Outside of work, you’ll likely find him in the kitchen testing a new recipe, exploring Italy slice by slice, or diving into music and languages from around the world.
What do you find most rewarding about working in yacht crew recruitment?
“The most rewarding part is being able to tell the stories behind the recruitment process - the journeys, the opportunities, the human side of yachting. In marketing, I get to showcase the dedication of our recruiters and the successes of our candidates, helping bridge the gap between talent and the yachts that rely on them. Bringing that to life for our community is something I genuinely enjoy.”
